Macy is a graduate internship student at Colorado State University, pursuing a Master of Social Work with plans to obtain clinical licensure. She is passionate about supporting individuals navigating eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Macy is especially connected to the queer and neurodiverse communities, striving to provide care that is affirming, inclusive, and empowering. Aligned with the body liberation movement, Macy advocates for individuals' right to live in their bodies without shame or discrimination. Her approach emphasizes respect for each person’s unique journey, acknowledging the intersectionality of their identities, and creating a safe, nonjudgmental space for exploration.

With a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies, Macy combines her academic background with a creative and holistic approach to therapy. She incorporates her passion for art and music into her practice, believing in the transformative power of creativity in the healing process. As a singer/songwriter, Macy has firsthand experience with how creative self-expression fosters emotional connection, personal insight, and growth.

Macy views the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative partnership in which individuals can explore their authentic selves, cultivate self-kindness, and work toward living in alignment with their values. She is dedicated to meeting clients with empathy, warmth, and compassion, recognizing them as the experts in their own lives. Deeply committed to social justice, Macy recognizes the pervasive role of systemic factors in shaping individual experiences. She also emphasizes the importance of community in fostering both individual and collective healing. Ultimately, Macy is committed to walking alongside individuals on their path toward living more embodied, authentic, and liberated lives.

My Therapeutic Lens

  • I take a humanistic approach to our sessions and believe that therapy requires a partnership that meets clients with warmth, empathy, and unconditional positive regard.

  • I believe that each of us is the expert in our own life and we all have the ability to make positive changes.

  • I believe that each individual is unique and, consequently, creative approaches to therapy and healing are necessary.

  • I approach our work in therapy through an intersectional framework, which calls for exploring my clients' lives and journeys through a systems perspective to understand and address systemic and oppressive barriers.
